If we don’t heal ourselves, we hurt ourselves. My cousin Dennis passed away last night at 70. Born into a macho, bigoted time in New York City, he was smart, hilarious, handsome, and gay. He became a dentist and for many years had a loving partner. But like many gay men of his time, as a child Dennis internalized the bigotry around him, and lived with emotional pain and self hatred. So he acted out. He drank and smoked, abused drugs, self deprecated. The culture of his generation did not permit vulnerability or the quest for healing. But today we know that not dealing with our own pain leads us to act out, and that our unconscious coping behaviors may cease only after we face our own painful experience. Healing is today’s Hero’s journey. It’s difficult. But take heart. Your soul will ever provide opportunities to begin. With YOU, on the SoulCraft journey, I’m Rev Doc Lisa, IntegralHealer
