We need help finding these adult indoor cats loving homes. Can you open your heart to a kitty? (or perhaps two)?
Pictures and info about each cat below, as well as the answer to the burning question: how did we come to need to place all these cats? If you or someone you know can help give them the love they need and would like to enrich their lives at the same time, please contact George at (305) 310-9564 or dragonweel@aol.com. Thanks so much in advance. Love, George and Lisa
Lola
Lola’s a black and white Tuxedo cat. She’s the most interactive, adventurous and playful of the bunch. She very much needs at least one person to call her own. Lola has feline immunodeficiency virus (feline AIDS), but it hasn’t been a concern. She’s never shown signs of illness, and doesn't bite. Like all these cats, we don’t know her exact age, but she’s over 12.
2. Skinner
Skinner is a classic domestic short hair. Perhaps the sweetest of these kitties, she plays for hours alone with toys and loves chasing lasers. Skinner adores being petted and purrs like crazy - she enjoys it so much she sometimes starts to cough! Skinner’s occasional constipation issues are well- controlled with Royal Canin food available at Chewy.com. She’s attached to Auggie and made sure he was rescued along with her.
3. Auggie
Auggie’s a beautiful green-eyed goldenish tabby cat - a bit shy. He’s the only one that squeaks, but only when treats are involved. When George rescued Skinner and was on the way to the vet to have her spayed, she escaped - but returned the very next day with Auggie at her side. They’ve been together ever since (at least 12 years). It would be great if Auggie and Skinner could stay together, but we understand if that’s not possible.
4. Cici
Cici is a black domestic short hair who is small, very quiet and very loving. Working on getting a better picture of her. She’ll sit in your lap for hours, and possibly days if you brushed her that long! Her real name is Charcoal but it developed into C.C. and then Cici. She and Nibbles are very close and ideally would be adopted together. Cici had skin allergies in the past but not currently. Since she’s black, we worry she’d be sacrificed in a dark rite if she fell into the wrong hands (which happens, especially around Halloween).
5. Nibbles
Nibbles looks tough as he’s had an eye removed, but is really a love. He’s completely motivated by food and treats (thus the name). An orange tabby, he especially enjoys scratches at the back of his neck. He and Cici are very close, so adopting them both together is ideal. Nibbles remains confident after his eye surgery, if a little clumsy occasionally at the periphery.

How did we get here?
These are the “harder to place” mature cats that remain after a decade-long campaign to rescue, spay/fix and place over 40 cats and kittens. George was living in the Silver Bluff area of Miami where many neighbors would feed stray cats… so the cats multiplied. An animal lover who has a hard time ignoring suffering, George grew tired of burying cats almost weekly that he found killed by careless motorists, tired of the heartbreak of finding wounded cats at the roadside and tired of discovering litter after litter of kittens in precarious circumstances. So he and his now-deceased mother began to capture the neighborhood cats, spay/fix them at their own expense, and place them in loving homes (if possible). Though he no longer rescues cats, George feels passionately about finding these a good home.
We want these cats to go to good people, and will help make that happen.
If you’re the right person, we can bring the cat(s) to you (even if out of state) and possibly even help defray some care costs.
Yes, we could put them in a no-kill shelter. But we feel that the world does not need more animals in cages with uncertain futures.
If you feel the same way we do about animals, please consider adopting one or two of these good kitties, or sending the link of this page to someone who might be able to.
They’ve had basic needs met, but need more love than we can give them.
These cats have been under routine indoor cat veterinary care, and their new parents will have access to all records and information. As for the love they absolutely need… that’s what we hope can come from you.
